Free Glucerna

Img_cereal5dollar

How I made $4.02 off for buying cereal and the cereal was free! At Fry's the Glucerna Cereal is $3.99, click here to get a $5.00 off any one cereal purchase (you can print two per computer). Here is how this breaks down, I bought two boxes of cereal at 3.99 then I used two $5 coupons which gives you a total of $2.02 in overage. Then you can also get reimbursed a $1.00 per box from Caregivers Marketplace.(When I checked out I got a Catalina that printed that gave me a $2.00 off my next purchase of 2 glucerna cereal boxes, so I did this deal again and made a total of $6.02 on my second purchase). Just make sure you purchase other items they will not give you money back.

also Call 1-877-879-4857 (it's an automated call) to receive a free $5/1 coupon for Glucerna cereal. Most stores have these priced at around $4.50 so the coupon makes them free

Bolt deal just got sweeter

Hey everyone the Bolt movie deal just got a little sweeter there is also a $4.00 rebate you can combine $5.00 off coupon. If you already bought it I hope you kept your receipt. Click here to print rebate form.

How to save money at Walgreens

    Warning long post!

Do you guys know how to save money by shopping at Walgreens? Well if not I am here to help you get started.

Besides the normal store sales Walgreens has three different ways to save money.
    1. Is the Easy Savor Catalog or rebate book (this is located at the front of each store with the flyers). You will most likely want to grab one on the way in.
The monthly EasySaver catalog usually includes a few free after rebate items for the month and also a number of other rebates they are offering for the month. Some of the items listed in the booklet which are not free after rebate at their normal price will usually go on sale one week during the month and will then be free after rebate at the sale price.
In order to use the rebate deals you first need to purchase the item that is on rebate and then submit the item, (here in AZ we can submit the item online at Walgreens.com) make sure you keep your reciepts. You can choose to have the rebate sent back to you in the form of a check or you can have it sent back in the form of a gift card. I personally recommend the gift card because if you choose this method you get an additional 10% back. The gift card is also a great idea, because the next month you can purchase the rebate items again, but this time you can use your gift card. So it is kind of like paying once and getting free items for as long as you choose to.
It usually takes around 4-6 weeks for your first rebate to be processed and for you to receive your gift card. Once you have the gift card and just need them to recharge it, it normally takes 2-3 weeks. They'll send you a postcard saying your rebate $ have been added to your gift card. You can also always log in to their website at any time to check on the status of your rebate.
One of the best perks about this is that you can use manufacture coupons on the rebate items and you will still get back the full amount of the rebate. This will help you grow your dollar amount on your gift card.
    2. Using manufacture coupon with the easy saver coupons. What are easy saver coupons you ask? They are the store coupon that is in the Walgreens flyer. Because they are store coupons you can stack them with manufacture coupons. This means you can double up on the coupons.

    3. Register Rewards (RR) this is when you buy a certain product or products and you get a coupon at the end of your transaction to use towards a future purchase. They usually have a few of these deals a week. You can also use coupons on these deals as well and you can sometimes get items for nearly free. You can usually “roll” these over onto another (RR) deal. For instance this past week they had a deal if you bought 3 Listerine mouth rinse you got a $6 RR back. There was also another (RR) deal if you bought four 2 liters of soda you got $2 RR back. So what I did is I first bought the mouth rinse and got back my $6 (RR) and I then turned around and used it on the soda. So I got the soda for free plus $2 (rr) to use towards whatever I want. (you cannot use the same (RR) promotion for the same deal). This is kind of hard to explain for instance with the mouth wash, once I got the (RR) for buying those items I could not turn around and use it for the mouth wash again. I hope this makes sense if you need clarification, let me know.

    • You must have as many items as you have coupons, in some cases when you purchase something using a manufacture coupon and a store coupon you would then have 2 coupons for 1 item. This will not work; you will need to get a “filler” item, such as a pencil, candy or something small.
    • Sometimes Walgreens is a can be frustrating with coupons, but keep at it and eventually you will be a pro.

    Walmart Clearance

I was just at the walmart in Prescott, and for some reason I happened to go in the store through the garden center entrance. Right at the entrance there were carts full of clearance items, the best deals I found were glove and scarf sets for $1.00. I bought a couple to save for next Christmas, I thought they were pretty cute. There is also a clearance isle that is next to the health and beauty dept. They had quit a few toys 75% off, I just thought I would pass this along I am not sure how long this stuff will last.(sorry no pics, not sure where my camera is)
p.s. I don't know if they have these items at the P.V. Walmart

    Frugal Cleaning Products

I am so excited to get emails from you guys! I really want this to be a community blog where everyone shares their ideas and helpful hints. Deborah emailed me a list of frugal homemade cleaning supplies with price comparisons. Thanks, Deborah!

P.S. I thought I would just put my two cents in about a great frugal cleaner. I have found that baking soda works great, just shake some on a slightly damp cleaning rag and watch your tub shine like new. Also if you have a empty Parmesan cheese shaker you could put the baking soda in it and use it just like Ajax or any other type of cleanser.

    Window Cleaner

    Windex 26 ounces $3.99

Home Made: 64 ounces (more than twice as much) $3.39

To Make: Combine 1 Part water with one part rubbing alcohol and put in a spray bottle.
Use exactly as you would any spray window product. Be sure to label.

    Furniture Polish:

    Pledge 25.5 oz. $4.29

Olive Oil Polish: $3.12 This will last at least one year in the average home

To Make: Combine in a jar with a screw top: 1 cup olive oil and 1/4 cup white vinegar
Label jar. Shake and apply with a soft cloth and buff. Will not only polish but
    will also moisturize furniture.

Mineral Oil Polish: 12 oz. $1.81

To Make: Combine 1 cup of Mineral Oil and a few drops of lemon extract in a screw top jar. Shake prior to using. Apply with a soft cloth and buff.

    Dishwasher Spot Stopper

Wave Jet made by Earth Friendly Products: 8 oz. $3.99 Will last approx. 2 months

Home Made: 1 cup Twenty Mule Team Borax and 1/2 cup Baking Soda $.62 for 12 oz.

To use: Add 1 teaspoon along with your automatic dishwasher detergent.
Should last 3 to 4 months.

    Liquid Fabric Softener:

    Snuggle Softener - softens 32 loads $5.99

    White Vinegar: $0.8 per load

To Use: Add 1/4 cup of whit

Here are some exchanges for those cleaning and laundry products you buy at the store and the savings if you make them yourself.

I priced out all the products at a Safeway Store and I priced the most commonly used cleaning and laundry products that you would buy on a regular basis.

Remember, when making your own products you can save even more money by buying larger sizes and buying at stores such as WalMart, Sams Club, Costco, etc.
